Management
Subicare is a Community Based Government Child Care Centre. All families are required to be members of the sponsoring body the Subiaco Child Care Association Incorporated. Interested parents are invited to be part of the Management Committee which meets on the fourth Thursday of the month 4.30 pm to 5.45 pm.
Additional Resource
Subicare staff can access the Resource Unit for Children with Special Needs to assist with any areas of children's behaviour or developmental growth; and the Ethnic Resource Unit for language assistance for NSEB children as well as cultural programmes to promote multi-culturalism.
Parents Involvement in the Centre
Families making enquiries can view the Centre by appointment. Arrangements have to be made for staff to be free to show visitors the Centre. Prior to placement to reduce parting anxiety familiarization visits are put in place so that the family/child has the opportunity to be introduced to staff and the care area.
Families are required to pay a fund raising levy to assist with the purchasing of equipment. Families can also volunteer to be part of working parties performing simple maintenance jobs.
More information on the history, philosophy and current policies of Subicare can be obtained from the Parents Handbook.
Security
Parents and staff are issued with electronic fobs that register time and date of admittance. Monitoring stations are in all care areas so that visitors can be viewed and spoken to and if known admitted by remote control. Unknown visitors are met by a staff member at the door before admittance. Camera surveillance - the 3 cot rooms in the 0 - 2 years care area have a video/audio link which scrolls through the rooms allowing staff to view the children at rest times.
Please Note
The Director and Staff are very willing to discuss with parents the development and progress of their child and other Centre issues that may be of concern to them.
